It is common for Indonesians to join insurance for their children education. Unfortunately, there are so many poor families cannot afford this facility since the insurance is very expensive so that only few families can join it.
Government has already guaranteed the prosperity of its citizens by granting them, especially the poor, by giving them health insurance which covers all aspect of people's health. However, how about their need for their children education?
Only few family can enjoy the education in Indonesia, especially the University level, which is nowadays is very expensive and I found it almost impossible for poor families to apply. For example, in the Medicine Department, students should sign such agreement about their willingness to pay a very high tuition fee before applying for it. Or else, students will be rejected.
Considering the fact that education is a gate for poor to level up their social status and also enable poor children to have a broaden chance to improve their life condition, why government do not facilitate their citizen to enjoy it? Poverty is a potential danger which may cause nation's instability. The different between the have and poor is very wide and deep.
The discrepancy between poor and rich may arouse the social jealousy. It is not health. The crime happens almost everyday and it can be clearly read from a daily newspaper, and television. It is horrible while the rich can enjoy the life but the safety isn't there.
